Online booking through the Universal Cinemas app or website is strongly recommended for weekend shows and new release opening weekends, when popular shows sell out hours in advance. Online booking allows you to choose your specific seats on a seat map. The box office at Emporium Mall opens approximately 30 minutes before the first show of the day.
For IMAX, avoid the front rows — the screen is so large that front rows cause neck strain. Aim for rows G to L (centre third of the auditorium) and central seats. For standard 2D, the centre rows are ideal. For 4DX, all seats move so any position gives the full effect — but centre seats tend to have the best viewing angle alongside the motion effects.
Emporium Mall cinema visitors should arrive at least 30 to 45 minutes before their show, particularly on weekends and during school holidays when the mall and parking can be very busy. The cinema is on the Third Floor — take the central escalators or lifts from the main atrium. Parking is available in 3 basement levels with 2,000+ spaces.
The Universal Cinemas concession stand at Emporium Mall offers popcorn (salted and sweet), nachos with cheese, hot dogs, beverages and a candy selection. Combo deals offer better value than individual items. VIP screen guests can order from an expanded menu delivered to their recliners.
